Andrew Bates
Even more music heading for the TMM library
In addition to the library being completed, we are finalising details on a 10 album deal with Landor productions for material by Hollywood composer Chris Demitriou.
When the deal is completed, Chris's tracks will be uploaded into the TMM library system, Chris has provided music for Shrek 2 and King Arthur as well as writing hit song 'Step on' recorded by the Happy mondays.
August 2009 Terry hooks up with superstar DJ, Radio 1 host and restaurateur Danny Rampling, TMM in deal with Chris Demitirou (Step on, Shrek 2) and library update.
TMM CEO Terry Eckersley hooks up with Danny Rampling
TMM and Danny are looking to get into a 'joint venture' in the near future, Terry has already released a successful 'how to' series of CD's and learning material on making a prosperous living out of the music industry (www.mediamoneytips.com, www.myspace.com/mediamoneytips, www.musicbizmoney.com, www.myspace.com/musicbizmoney ) and Danny has produced similar material on how to be a successful DJ, we're looking forward to getting involved with Danny considering his considerable music industry expertise and experience!

TMM's deal with Chris Demitirou
The contracts have been drawn up for Chris's publishing company Landor productions ltd, and TMM are looking to secure a non-exclusive sub-publishing deal on several albums of Chris's work, Chris is most famous for his song 'Step on' recorded by among others 'The happy mondays' very successfully back in the 90's.
Chris has produced numerous high-quality, hollywood style film music. He has played on the backing music for Shrek 2 and provided music for the film King Arthur (2004) starring Clive Owen. As the title suggests this is aimed at the videogames market, Dayle's style suits this perfectly, high quality tracks that fit easily within this context, epic sweeping scores, complex distorted rock guitar, and gentle classical ballads. Dayle is passionate about providing music for the games industry, and TMM is more than happy to provide him with the platform, watch this space for more of Dayle's music...

Not long to go now!, we are told by our webhosts that our new search system should be online by this weekend (12th-15th June), when activated visitors will be able to browse through our entire library utilising catagories such as 'Tempo', 'Trackname', 'Mood', 'Composer', 'Genre' and 'Instrumentation'
There still needs to be a little work done to it before all the music is avaliable, but when completed it will make searching for just the right piece of music as easy as pie!

New music search system
Soon to be launched, TMM is working on a new music search system that will allow music users to access the music they want in a much faster more user friendly way.
The system will be keyword based, a visitor will simply enter a word in the search box which relates to the music they want, and a relevent list of results will appear, this will make the music selection process much faster when auditioning a track from TMM's list of well over 900.
Our aim is to give our customers access to our music in as fast and painless a way as possible!
Please check back here very soon to take advantage of the new system

A little bit about Van Morrison's band in 1978
Around July 1978, this was Van Morrison's live band: Van Morrison (vocals, guitar, keyboards, sax) Bob Tench (guitar) Herbie Armstrong (guitar) Peter Bardens (keyboards) Micky Feat (bass) Peter Van Hooke (drums) They record a new album, Wavelength. With help from Garth Hudson (from The Band, who were friends of Van Morrison), Mitch Dalton (guitar) and backing vocals Laura Creamer, Linda Dillard and Ginger Blake.
They augment the backing vocals section for live concerts: Van Morrison (vocals, guitar, keyboards, sax) Bob Tench (guitar) Herbie Armstrong (guitar) Peter Bardens (keyboards) Micky Feat (bass) Katie Kissoon (vocals) Anne Peacock (vocals) Peter Van Hooke (drums) Vocalist Linda Dillard was also in the lineup for some time, around 1978.
In September 1979, the band had lost keyboardist Peter Bardens (ex-Camel): Van Morrison (vocals, guitar, keyboards, sax) Bob Tench (guitar) Herbie Armstrong (guitar) John Allair (keyboards) Micky Feat (bass) Katie Kissoon (vocals) Anne Peacock (vocals) Peter Van Hooke (drums) A later lineup was: Van Morrison (vocals, guitar, keyboards, sax) Bob Tench (guitar) Herbie Armstrong (guitar) John Altman (sax) Katie Kissoon (backing vocals) David Hayes (bass) Peter Van Hooke (drums)
There is an official release of a live video from Wavelength tour, called "Live in Ireland". Warner Bros issued a promotion demo LP in 1978, Live at the Roxy, later put out on general release in 1989 on the Seagull label.
In 1979, Bobby Tench left the band, and a major reformation was made: Van Morrison (vocals, guitar, keyboards, sax) John Platania (guitar) Herbie Armstrong (guitar) David Hayes (bass) Pete Wingfield (keyboards) John Allair (keyboards) Toni Marcus (violin) Pee Wee Ellis (sax) Mark Isham (trumpet) Peter Van Hooke (drums) This was the lineup in May 1981: Van Morrison (vocals, guitar, keyboards, sax) Mick Cox (guitar) Herbie Armstrong (guitar) David Hayes (bass) John Allair (keyboards) Pee Wee Ellis (sax) Mark Isham (trumpet) Peter Van Hooke (drums)

Stewart Churchill from the academy of contemporary music interviews Terry Eckersley about all things music and visionary!...
How did you first get into composing?
I wrote my first song when I was 18 when I was a singer in a punk band that never really got off the ground, we didn’t even get a name for the band, but I wrote a song called ‘looking for fun’ so that was the first time I composed. Interestingly enough I went back to that about 18 months ago and reworked it and it has now been published worldwide on ‘Monkey Business’, which was interesting and exciting. That was 30 years ago and now its on ITV’s biggest selling wildlife show. (READ MORE)

TMM working with Las vegas super hotel 'The Venetian'!

Whilst browsing on itunes for some media music for their website, representatives Sam Scott, Jessica Mo and Greg Cannon (director of interactive media for the Las Vegas Sands corporation), discovered two TMM tracks 'Perfect Storm', and 'Fly for Free'.
After downloading them and being convinced it was what they wanted they contacted us and we began negotiations.
Greg told us he really loved our music and we made him a very tempting offer.
Although the deal didn't go ahead, we were delighted to be involved with such a great brand name, and appreciated Greg's kind comments on the quality of our music.
We wish Greg and his team all the best with future projects and hope to be involved with them at some point in the future should they need our music!

Monkey business
The hit worldwide television show continues to air on Sky's animal planet, now showing up to 6 times a day!

After the sad loss of Monkey world's co-creator Jim Cronin earlier this year, we are pleased to report Dr. Alison Cronin will continue their great conservation and re-habilitation work for rescued monkeys and great apes.
Situated in Dorset 'Monkey world' has provided sanctuary and care for many primates for over 20 years, it was no surprise that it was a great subject for television, and continues to go from strength to strength.
Being able to provide music for the show has been a great honour, and we look forward to seeing Monkey world raising awareness for this cause through Monkey business.
Korean library expansion
TMM was recently contacted by Modoocom a large asian library providing music to and having many business links with the asian media community.
Modoocom has already shown great interest in our work, and we will be sending off a portion of our library music for review very soon!

Thinkmediamusic breaking into Radio!
Thinkmediamusic is now offering access to it's free downloadable library to Cheshire FM, a new radio station about to launch in a couple of weeks!

Andrew Bates TMM's head of publishing caught up with Dave Brierely-Jones producer/presenter for Cheshire FM.
Dave has contacted other libraries but he's also interested in what TMM can provide, and said he was interested to see we have have worked with ITV, the BBC and Sky among others.
The music would be used for in-house pro-mo trailers, and things like Jingles and advertising.
A little bit about Chesire FM from their site:
Cheshire FM - Community Radio for Cheshire
CheshireFM is the group that aim to establish a community (neighbourhood) station based in mid-Cheshire to serve the towns of Northwich, Winsford, Middlewich and Holmes Chapel. The group was formed following the publication of Ofcom's consultation document Licensing Community Radio. It is our goal to provide an organisational framework in which interested members of the local community can create and shape a new not-for-profit corporate organisation. This organisation will in turn apply for a community radio licence and build, own and operate the radio station.
Some of the elements of running the station are:
Broadcasting:
The Cheshire FM presenter will be totally responsible for producing as well as presenting their own programme. And presenting it includes operating the broadcast console. So the presenter is fully responsible for music selection and playing of chosen tracks, interviewee bookings and carrying out the interview, structure of the show, inclusion of news bulletins, sponsorship announcements, weather updates, gig guides or community service announcements, and whatever else comes up. During the day, phone calls are taken by the front office, but apart from that, the presenter does everything involved in putting the show together and making it happen in the studio.
Multi-genre music
CheshireFM will broadcast music that is truly representative of the interests of the local community. There will be a wide range of shows featuring music for younger and older generations as well as music written, produced and performed in the area.
A big thanks to Dave for having a chat with us, we look forward to helping this new radio station by providing quality music for all it's needs!

Reknowned editor Andy Sutton (see links page for Andy's site 'SOUTH COAST POST') is editing the new series of 'Seaside rescue' now showing on BBC and UK:TV to an audience of over 8 million

TMM are honoured to provide the engaging and atmospheric music for the hit documentary about the R.N.L.I., a recent article from UKTV People writes:
This month we pay tribute to our brave rescue services busy patrolling the south coast by joining them as they’re called out on a wide variety of maritime missions.
We begin with a rude awakening for coastguard officer Eddie Weller, who’s called out of bed to save the day when a car goes crashing over a cliff in Torbay.
We also climb aboard the Whisky Bravo helicopter as the team rescue a boy who’s fallen 100 feet down a cliff in Dorset, comes to the aid of a 78-year-old paraglider suffering from a backbreaking accident and watch as the crew flies in to help the people of Bocastle stranded on their rooftops after flash floods submerged the town.
Meanwhile, the RNLI teams rescue a diver found feet-up, near death, look for two missing girls lost at sea and are called out for the biggest rescue mission of the summer when 35 swimmers are swept out into the waves.
Quite simply, there’s never a quiet moment for the tea.
Seaside rescue is showing on SKY channel 534, Telewest 206 and NTL 206

All three gigs went down very well, and TMM was confidentally successful at creating a relaxing ambient background for students from all over the world to chill out to. (See right: Head of TMM Publishing Andrew Bates prepares for the gigs.)

Artful Dodger 'Mark Hill' and Corrine Bailey Rae movin on up!
TMM is celebrating with friends and congratulating Mark Hill's (song producer for Craig David) successful collaboration with rising star Corrine Bailey Rae.
18 months ago Thinkmediamusic's CEO and music reviewer Terry Eckersley, delivered an insightful piece about the emerging relationship between Mark's project 'the stiX' and several performers, one of whom was Corrine (direct link to the review below)
Looking to the future...
Confidently predicting 'they’re not going to stop until they reach the top!', Terry's instinctive musical intuition has not let him down, along with Mark, Corrine is now experiencing ever growing popularity and success in the R'n'B charts.
Terry's review:
From Marks site: Corrine recently worked with the Artful Dodger and Craig David producer, Mark Hill on the single 'Young And Foolish' for his stiX project.

Thinkmediamusic wishes their good friends Mark and Corrine even greater success for the future, and is hoping the project is as successful as Craig's has been so far!
CheshireFM will broadcast music that is truly representative of the interests of the local community. There will be a wide range of shows featuring music for younger and older generations as well as music written, produced and performed in the area.CheshireFM is the group that aim to establish a community (neighbourhood) station based in mid-Cheshire to serve the towns of Northwich, Winsford, Middlewich and Holmes Chapel.
That was 30 years ago and now its on ITV’s Vegasbiggest selavailableling wildlife show. (READ MORE)
